How Non-Dealers SELL a Vehicle - Overview
Non-dealers who are interested to sell a vehicle should follow these highlighted instructions: (complete Policies & Procedures can be found at the link with the same name)
- First, as you prepare to consign your vehicle, you should confirm that any lien existing on the face of the title is released. This means that any lien must be signed off and/or stamped on the face of the title – an accompanied lien release is not allowed by the state of Kentucky – it must be released at the county in which the lien is filed prior to arriving at auction.
- Secondly, the name printed on the face of the title, no matter what state, must match the person offering to sell the vehicle. We require proper photo identification. The only exception is a notarized Power of Attorney authorizing a specifically named person to represent this particular described (year, make, model, VIN) vehicle.
- Third, we require a non-refundable $25 Registration Fee at the time of Check-In.
- We ask sellers to represent their vehicle on the auction block to the auctioneer. Whatever the final bid is, each seller has the right to accept or reject. If rejected, there will be no other fee. If accepted, the seller’s fee will be deducted from the commission check the auction will write the seller.
- Non-Dealer Checks will be written as early as sale night or as late as Thursday afternoon.
